PROJECT: Portman Square Refurbishment
BUILD & INTERIOR REFURBISHMENT: London 161
INTERIOR STYLING: Bollé & Bloom

THE BRIEF
This project involved the complete refurbishment of a neglected one-bedroom apartment in Portman Square, transforming it into a refined and desirable London residence designed to appeal to high-end buyers seeking a stylish pied-à-terre in a prestigious location.
Working alongside the refurbishment team at London 161, the aim was to reimagine the flat as a sophisticated and elegant home, balancing contemporary comfort with classic design references that reflect the character of the building.
INTERIOR DESIGN
The design scheme draws inspiration from the building’s Art Deco heritage, combining modern design with timeless architectural elements. A rich navy palette is balanced with warm neutrals to create depth and sophistication throughout the apartment, while natural herringbone flooring and complementary herringbone tiling introduce texture and visual rhythm.
Brass finishes were incorporated to bring warmth and subtle luxury to the interiors, while the bedroom features a striking floral wallcovering that adds softness and character.

RESTORATION & DETAIL
Reinstating architectural features formed an important part of the transformation. Traditional architraves were reintroduced to restore a sense of period craftsmanship and elevate the overall finish of the apartment and soft lighting played a key role in softening the space.
The result is a beautifully considered interior that transforms a once tired and dilapidated flat into a polished, contemporary home - now one of the most distinctive and desirable apartments in the building.
